Disk Utility gives you options to secure delete the partitions and hard drives. I turned the mac off for the night. When I try to erase it from there I get Disk Erase failed with the error: POSIX reports: The operation couldn’t be completed. Could you also let me know the file format to which your external drive was formatted before this error?
